About The Position

The Automation Supervisor will be responsible for completing work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources. This includes collaborating with managers, coworkers, customers, and other business partners, identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations, carrying out tasks, communicating progress and information, determining and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities, and adapting to and learning from change, difficulties, and feedback. The role involves programming and troubleshooting automated control systems, utilizing on-line and electrical schematic designs, and providing on-call technical support. Additionally, the supervisor will train associates on automation equipment, comply with company policies, manage daily operations of automation systems, perform routine maintenance, upgrade and replace components, monitor operations, identify and correct malfunctions, complete work orders, and support plant operation quality and continuous improvement programs. The role also includes executing process improvement projects by identifying customer and operational needs, performance standards, measuring progress, and developing contingency plans.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Professional certification in engineering, technology, or related field.
  • 1 year's experience in maintenance or related field.
  • 2 years’ experience PLC/Robot Programming.

Responsibilities

  • Programs and troubleshoots automated control systems (e.g., integration, electronics, robotics, fiber optic sensors, pneumatic/hydraulic controls, touch panels, programmable logic controllers, human-machine interface).
  • Utilizes on-line and electrical schematic designs, electrical equipment, controls, instrumentations, and configurations (e.g., pump Variable Frequency Drive, Allen Bradley Factory Talk, Siemens BR brand controllers and systems).
  • Provides on-call, remote, and on-site technical support for automation equipment.
  • Trains associates on the operation and repair of automation equipment.
  • Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Manages the daily operations of automation systems by performing routine maintenance of instruments and controls.
  • Upgrades and replaces components and control systems.
  • Continuously monitors all operations processes.
  • Identifies operational malfunctions and corrects them as needed.
  • Completes work orders, records logs, and other written or computer-based documents.
  • Supports plant operation quality and continuous improvement programs (e.g., Break Down Analysis, Break Down Deployments).
  • Executes process improvement projects by identifying customer and operational needs, performance standards, measuring progress, and developing contingency plans.
