About The Position

At Novonesis, our Automation team in West Allis, Wisconsin collaborates across functions to ensure high-quality, on-time delivery of automation for manufacturing facilities across the region. You will be part of a highly collaborative and results-oriented team that partners closely with engineers, project managers, vendors, and end users—ensuring automation systems meet project requirements while contributing to our broader purpose of enabling sustainable solutions through innovation. The Role & Your Impact As an Automation Project Manager, you will lead the planning and execution of automation scope within capital projects. This role is primarily focused on project management and execution, ensuring that automation deliverables are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with business needs. You will work closely with internal automation teams, project stakeholders, and external vendors to drive alignment, manage resources, and ensure successful project outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc. or M.Sc.) in a relevant field
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in project management or automation
  • Strong project management capabilities including scope, schedule, and resource planning
  • Experience developing functional design specifications
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven ability to take ownership and drive results

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Studio 5000 or Aveva systems
  • Knowledge of ISA-88 and batch systems
  • Experience with object-oriented programming
  • Background in automation engineering

Responsibilities

  • Manage scope, schedule, and budget for automation-related project activities
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and resource plans
  • Define project scope and create clear work packages for external vendors
  • Drive change management processes throughout project execution
  • Document project activities including meeting minutes, plans, and agreements
  • Ensure schedule adherence across internal teams, vendors, and user groups
  • Provide regular updates and progress reports to the overall project manager
