About The Position

Automation Processing Coordinator - Atrium Health Charlotte FT Department: 60985 Carolinas Medical Center - Core Lab: Specimen Management Status: Full time Benefits Eligible: Yes Hours Per Week: 40 Schedule Details/Additional Information: 2nd/3rd shift Monday - Friday 2100 - 0530; with rotating weekends and holidays Pay Range $25.30 - $37.95 Essential Functions Provides training and support for staff on the automation and processing areas. Develops, updates, and maintains standard operating procedures and quality control processes as needed. Has a thorough knowledge of the automation with the ability to recognize and correct issues with minimal support. Prepares reports to illustrate the performance of automation for specimen processing. This includes investigating error trends, new test code builds, test code updates, and tube labeling compliance. Identifies and implements process improvement opportunities to improve the efficiency of automation for processing areas. Acts as primary liaison with service technicians to limit impact and shorten downtime during automation servicing or repair. Maintains cleanliness of equipment and work areas. Troubleshoots as needed. Follows all policies regarding performance of maintenance, function checks and quality control with proper documentation. Physical Requirements Works in an active environment interacting with physicians, patients, technologists, and other hospital teammates. Works in an area which contains biohazardous (infectious) materials along with chemical, fire, and mechanical hazards. Each teammate has the responsibility to work in a safe manner. May be required to stoop, reach and lift light (20 pound) to moderately heavy (50 pound) loads. Education, Experience and Certifications Registered Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP) or bachelor's degree in chemical, biological or physical science required. Patient Population Served Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and demonstrates the skills and competency appropriate to the ages, culture, developmental stages, and special needs of the patient population served. Requirements

  • Registered Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP) or bachelor's degree in chemical, biological or physical science required.
