About The Position

The Mechanical Tech II position is a hands-on role within the Automation Engineering team. In this position, you will be working on the integration floor to build and modify automation systems and components. This includes mechanical assembly, pneumatic assembly, basic electrical wiring, integration, troubleshooting and installation. Ideal candidates will be very comfortable working with their hands. They should be proficient in using hand tools, power tools and basic machinery (drill presses, bandsaws, etc.) to accomplish goals. They must be able to read part drawings and follow instructions. They may occasionally be asked to fabricate simple fixtures or modify tooling with little guidance. They should have an understanding of an automation system and how different parts of the system work together (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, etc.). This mid-level position requires attention to detail and a strong desire to produce high-quality work. In addition to being able to work independently, the Mechanical Tech II will have to work closely with other engineers and technicians.
