About The Position

As the Senior Engineering Leader for AMRT (Advanced Manufacturing & Repair Technologies), you will lead a global team in the development and deployment of next-generation automation and robotics solutions across the Gas Power Global Supply Chain. You are a critical bridge between our Advanced Research Center’s Robotics Center of Excellence, Global Process Engineering teams and our shop-floor industrialization and operations teams. You will be tasked with scaling innovation into repeatable, high-impact solutions originating from our AMRT Automation Innovation Lab and external partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science (Automation, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related).
  • >8 years of relevant experience including substantial experience leading advanced automation projects.
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 15% of the time.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States is required. We will not sponsor employees for work visas, now or in the future, for this position opening.
  • Proven track record in leading global, cross-functional engineering teams in a complex, matrixed environment.
  • Experience successfully transitioning automation technology from R&D/lab environments into full-scale industrial production.
  • Deep understanding of industrial robotic systems (Fanuc, KUKA, UR), PLC architecture, and machine safety.
  • Demonstrated success applying Lean methodology to manufacturing or repair processes to improve OEE and throughput.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams (Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Research Centers, and External Partners) to achieve alignment on complex initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead a high-performing global automation and robotics development organization.
  • Foster a culture of technical excellence, lean methodology, and rigorous project execution.
  • Act as a primary liaison between R&D, global process engineering teams, manufacturing facilities, and external partners.
  • Translate complex business needs into scalable technical deliverables that enhance process capability and repair speed.
  • Own the prioritization and delivery of automation projects.
  • Ensure all systems meet strict quality, safety, and operational standards while driving continuous improvement (CI) across the global footprint.
  • Support the overall GE Gas Power global automation roadmap and plant/repair shop Kaizen Roadmaps leveraging our AMRT Automation Innovation Lab, while aligning w/ Advanced Research Center R&D capabilities to deploy third party solutions to the supply chain and repair priorities.
