About The Position

As an Automation Lead at IPL, you will be responsible for initiating, implementing, and managing the maintenance program specific to automation. This role involves coordinating with the Operations team and maintenance manager to schedule preventative maintenance and repair work, monitoring spare parts inventory, and maintaining/repairing automation equipment and secondary systems. You will also be responsible for updating operating and training manuals, monitoring plant equipment, and carrying out projects to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Maintaining safety, health, and environmental policies, implementing plant cleanliness programs, and supporting plant improvements and expansions are also key aspects of this role. You will report directly to the Maintenance Manager, coordinating maintenance activities and ensuring effective interaction between maintenance and quality requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years’ experience with the set up and operations of plant specific automation systems
  • Injection molding experience
  • Advanced Maintenance skills
  • Experience with large tonnage machines (4000 tons).
  • Strong understanding of OSHA Safety Standards.
  • Previous maintenance experience is required.
  • The ability to work in a high-volume work environment in a team atmosphere is essential.
  • Proficient skills in MS Office; Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Thorough understanding of the organization and work environment.
  • Has a thorough understanding of plastics materials.
  • Experience with Automation
  • Valid Driver's license and good driving record may be required

Responsibilities

  • Initiates, implements, and manages the maintenance program specific to automation.
  • Coordinates with Operations team and maintenance manager to scheduled PM/Repair work.
  • Monitors the use and inventories of spare parts, and equipment and initiates reordering when necessary.
  • Maintains and repairs and maintenance of automation equipment and secondary systems.
  • Maintains and updates operating and training manuals for the maintenance department.
  • Monitors operation of plant equipment and systems.
  • Initiates and carries out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
  • Maintains safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Implement programs and procedures required to ensure plant cleanliness.
  • Support the Plant Operations Department by planning and implementing plant improvements and expansions.
  • Coordinates activities with Maintenance and Operations team.
  • Reports directly with the Maintenance manager to coordinate maintenance and repair work in process areas.
  • Communicates directly with the Maintenance manager to ensure effective interaction between maintenance activities and quality requirements, including participation by the maintenance technicians in the implementation of QA policies and procedures.
  • Supports company- and plant-wide safety programs by providing technical expertise/support and training.
  • Responsible for special projects and other duties as assigned.
