Jabil is expanding! We are looking for a regional Warehouse & Material Flow Automation Lead (US Region) to support new and existing sites throughout the US. This role will sit at one of our major sites in the US and travel up to 75% domestically. How will you make an impact? The Automation Lead for Warehouse & Material Flow (US Region) at Jabil will be responsible for spearheading the implementation and optimization of automated solutions within Jabil's US-based warehouses and material handling systems. This role focuses on driving efficiency, reducing costs, and improving the overall flow of materials through advanced automation technologies. What will you do?

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or Robotics) or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in warehouse automation, material handling systems, or industrial robotics.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and implementing complex automation projects within a manufacturing or logistics environment.
  • Strong knowledge of various automation technologies, including AGVs, AMRs, AS/RS, robotic systems, conveyors, and sortation systems.
  • Experience with PLC programming, HMI development, and industrial control systems.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools (e.g., PMP certification is a plus).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience with automation integration to SAP.

  • Ability to travel frequently within the assigned region to support various Jabil sites (up to 75%). When not traveling, work location is required on-site at the home-site location.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for layout and system design preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the assessment, identification, and justification of automation opportunities within Jabil's US warehouse operations and material flow processes.
  • Develop and present comprehensive business cases for automation projects, including ROI analysis, cost-benefit assessments, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Design, configure, and implement various automation solutions, such as Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), robotic picking systems, automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS), and other material handling automation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, engineering, IT, and supply chain to ensure seamless integration of automation solutions with existing systems and processes.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources for all automation initiatives from conception to completion.
  • Develop and execute test plans, commissioning procedures, and operational training for new automation systems.
  • Provide ongoing technical support, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement for deployed automation technologies.
  • Stay abreast of emerging automation technologies and industry best practices in warehouse logistics and material handling.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key automation vendors and technology providers.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company standards related to automated systems.
  • Develop and implement metrics to monitor the performance and effectiveness of automation solutions.
