About The Position

The Automation Field Service Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and continuously improving automated and electro-mechanical systems across customer sites. This role emphasizes preventive maintenance (PM), reliability engineering, and data-driven troubleshooting to minimize downtime and improve system performance. The technician supports a wide range of material handling and automation equipment, including AGVs, robotics, conveyors, racking systems, dock equipment, and related industrial automation technologies. A minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on automation experience is required. This position requires strong technical competence, independence, ownership mindset, and the ability to travel extensively up to 100% as business needs require. This Technician will travel 100%!

Requirements

  • High School or GED Diploma required.
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as an Automation Tech/forklift technician/automation bots/technology savvy.
  • Strong Electrical troubleshooting skills, 480v,240v,24v, 48v.
  • Able to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, hydraulic diagrams, pneumatic prints.
  • Ability to organize his/her own work and work independently, with limited supervision.
  • Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and with diverse needs, and across remote offices.
  • Strong Mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Basic handyman and plumbing skills.
  • Must understand how to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical components involving wiring diagrams and schematics, general abilities in laptop software to identify issues with automation equipment going offline.
  • Manufacturer Training available on specific equipment for technician hired.
  • Looking for someone with a strong skillset who is willing to learn, self-motivated, goal oriented, punctual, and professional, strong communication skills, solution-based mindset who is looking to grow.
  • Specialty tools will be provided but must have own hand tools and willing to purchase what is needed to be successful in the role.

  • Must be able to pass pre-employment requirements.
  • ELECTRICAL- 480V, VFD’s, Relays, Motor Controls, electric motors, HMI’s, Contactors, Timers, Proximity Sensors/Switches, Electro-Mechanical background, Industrial Batteries.
  • Mechanical- Gear boxes, Chains, Sprockets, MHE Equipment, Dock, and Door experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Allen Bradley PLC experience a plus!
  • Arc, Mig, and Tig welding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performing and completing PMs & repairs.
  • Facilitate work/repair request.
  • Provide shift coverage at customer site if needed.
  • Willing to be On Call
  • Communicate PTO coverage plans with direct manager.
  • Coordinate and drive warranty requests
  • Facilitate outside vendor work (PO process and billing)
  • Facilitate all outside of scope work.
  • Parts Ordering and Inventory Management (5S Inventory Skills)
  • Fill out and complete daily work orders.
  • Attend and complete Monthly safety training requirements.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures, including root cause analysis. Including research of potential warranty, rework and continuously repetitive repairs using historical equipment data available through Field Connect service platform.
  • Complete all repairs of equipment in a timely manner and by the manufacturer’s repair guidelines.
  • Judgment and Decision Making – Consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate course of action.
  • Inspecting Equipment – Perform audits on equipment audits per the PM Planning tools schedule in Field Connect service platform.
  • Communications – Provide information to supervisor, co-workers, and subordinates by phone, in writing, e-mail, or in person.
  • Timely and accurate completion of all work orders and service records per the Concentric time standard.
  • Maintain accurate and timely entry of work hours in Paylocity time keeping platform.
  • All work must be completed in a safe manner.
  • Safety requirements by customer and Concentric must be adhered to.
  • Work areas will be maintained to ensure safety.
  • Work areas will be kept clean and organized daily.
  • Timely Completion of Safety training modules.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
