About The Position

CDM Smith is looking for an Automation (Instrumentation & Controls) Engineering Intern to join their team. The intern will work with a dynamic team of industry-leading engineers on a diverse portfolio of industrial projects. CDM Smith’s Automation and Instrumentation division has staff from various disciplines, enabling them to bring a wide range of knowledge to each project. Their services include SCADA System Design, Instrumentation Design, P&ID Creation, Process Design, Optimization, Control Network Design, Wired/Wireless Communication Security System Design, and Legacy System Replacement. In this role, the intern will perform tasks such as developing process and instrumentation diagrams, electrical component interconnection diagrams, control system databases, process control graphics, and controller programming. They will be involved in all phases of control systems projects, including designing, development, testing, integrating, and starting up these systems.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled and taking courses toward a Bachelors in Chemical, Electrical, Computer Engineering or a related engineering field is required.

Responsibilities

• Developing control system databases
• Developing process control graphics
• Developing controller programming
• Involvement in all phases of control systems projects: designing, development, testing, integrating, and starting up of these systems
