About The Position

Eli Lilly and Company seeks an Automation Engineer (R1 – R4) to maintain and qualify source code for pharmaceutical packaging equipment as part of the asset delivery process. This role involves participating in Factory Acceptance Tests and Site Acceptance Tests to qualify packaging lines for commercial production. The engineer will troubleshoot PLC, Vision, and HMI programs during the qualification process for failures and performance issues, review and approve site documentation for packaging engineering systems deployed to sites, and provide impact assessments for program changes made to equipment. Additionally, the role includes providing technical mentoring to Lilly engineers related to the deployment of packaging assets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering field.
  • 2 years of academic or employment experience with control systems programming including Studio 5000, TIA portal, and Automation Studio.
  • A minimum of 6 months of experience with commissioning and qualification, asset delivery, and validation.
  • A minimum of 6 months of experience leading the integration of equipment control systems and performing configuration management activities supporting equipment delivery.
  • A minimum of 6 months of experience completing process improvements and technology upgrades for packaging lines or systems in production that help with minimizing costs and production issues.
  • A minimum of 6 months of experience supporting major capital projects including design and testing.

Responsibilities
