Job Summary To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add an Automation Engineer located in Orangeburg SC Reporting to the Automation Manager the Automation Engineer this role will be responsible for specifying, designing, installing, and maintaining automation equipment, tooling and applications as required to meet specifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electriac Engineering
  • 5 years of Engineering Experience, including broad-based Automation and Engineering
  • 5 years of experience in Engineering role hands on experience
  • Design and engineer moderate and complex automation equipment, tooling, and applications
  • Make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Support new product development automation needs, facilitate assembly processes through the implementation of assembly cells and automated equipment at NPI stage and ensure meeting development timeline

  • PLC, Robot/Cobalt, Vision Systems (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership during the entire life cycle of automation projects, from concept to feasibility and from fabrication and test to production.
  • Define, develop, and deploy automation into Flex sites.
  • Design the layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency and safety.
  • Conduct equipment design reviews and provide design guidance to suppliers.
  • Provide on-site support during machine build, debug and testing/qualification.
  • Supervise installation and testing to verify requirements and specifications are met.
  • Draft qualification protocols and support equipment qualification activities.
  • manufacturing solutions with the best combination of manual, semi-automation and/or full automation.
  • Evaluate and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide status reports as per established schedule.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation related to the operation of the automation equipment.
