About The Position

As an autonomy engineer, you will assist in the design, definition, development, and test of the robotics hardware development; collaborating with senior engineers to ensure that internal and external clients' needs are met.

Requirements

  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of the organization's industry group, trends, directions, major issues , regulatory considerations, and trendsetters; ability to apply industry knowledge appropriately to diverse situations
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating , and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations
  • Hardware Development Life Cycle: Knowledge of hardware development life cycle; ability to use a structured methodology for delivering and managing new or enhanced hardware products to the marketplace
  • Hardware Product Testing: Knowledge of hardware testing; ability to design, plan, and execute testing strategies and tactics to ensure hardware quality and adherence to stated requirements
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate , recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware applications or operations

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or related degree (selected candidates must complete their degree by their start date)
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience related to this field (internships or academic projects are a plus)
  • Minimum cumulative GPA requirement 3.0/ 4.0 (no rounding)
  • Experience in 3D design using CREO
  • Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment outside of the classroom

Responsibilities

  • Collecting and researching data on customer experience with robotic platforms; preparing reports for management
  • Documenting architecture specifications, hardware requirements and specifications, verification plans, test cases, operating procedures, and safety procedures
  • Utilize appropriate tools to develop hardware in 3D modeling tools according to specifications, create 2D drawings, collaborate with suppliers, and assist with procurement of the hardware.
  • Utilize appropriate tools to debug, test and maintain cat robotic hardware, assisting in the assembly, verification and validation process
