About The Position

Under the direction of the Director for Identity and Tools, the Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining automation solutions that improve the efficiency, reliability, and security of our IT operations. This role will partner closely with Infrastructure, Security, Service Desk, and Application teams to automate identity lifecycle processes, device provisioning, cloud deployments, patching, monitoring, and compliance workflows. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in scripting, orchestration, and systems automation, with the ability to translate manual processes into scalable, repeatable, self-healing workflows. This position will play a critical role in reducing cost and operational workload, improving service quality, and enabling the IT organization to support a growing business without proportional headcount increases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, other related fields, or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years of IT work experience, with at least 2 years of experience working in automation solutions for IT organizations
  • Experience in Python, C#, or Powershell
  • Expeirence with API integration and automation via REST/Graph API
  • Ability to work and communicate, in a team environment, using strong communication skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SIEM/SOAR platforms a plus
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Knowledge of Intune advanced automation and Azure governance automation a plus
  • Experience creating self-service portals or automated workflow approvals
  • Understanding of the retail industry a big plus

Responsibilities

  • Enhance Identity program as needed to fill gaps for IDM tool or process
  • Work with IT partners to automate executive reporting and proactively monitor status to ensure reports are delivered to executives on time and with the expected accuracy
  • Automate health checks, log collection, and alert validation
  • Build dashboards and scheduled reports for patching, compliance, inventory, and uptime
  • Reduce false positives and accelerate root cause analytics with automated enrichment
  • Implement configuration drive detection and auto remediation scripts
  • Build scripts to reduce repetitive Service Desk workload (resets, cleanup, diagnostics)
  • Automate server/workload provisioning, patching, and configuration baselines
  • Build automated remediation for recurring issues across servers and applications
  • Create standardized deployment workflows for Windows/Linux systems
  • Automate vulnerability detection to remediation
  • Automate containment actions such as isolating compromised endpoints
  • Integrate automation tasks with SIEM/SOAR tooling to enrich alerts and accelerate response
  • Build compliance verification scripts based on CIS, NIST, and internal baselines
  • Partner with IT teams to identify automation opportunities across the organization
  • Document workflows, runbooks, and automated processes
  • Provide training and enablement to teams adopting new automation solutions
