About The Position

GovCIO is hiring an Automation Engineer to support data analysis, process automation, data and workflow configuration, and reporting activities for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The role works with officers and contractors to connect reporting and analytics, configure systems, and analyze data to produce real-time metrics, tasking responses, and other information supporting the ICE mission. The position directly supports the Los Angeles Field Office onsite, helping automate processes to make law enforcement initiatives more efficient.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience.
At least 5 years of work experience.
At least 3 years of experience working in data and automation client environments.
Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Automate and Power BI.
Ability to attain and maintain DHS clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with stakeholders, field office teams, and project managers to collect and compile information for timely responses to requests and ad hoc assignments.
Align data with analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and Qlik dashboards.
Work with stakeholders to understand business workflows and identify opportunities for solutions using tools such as Power Apps and Power BI.
Understand client needs, issues, and challenges; perform gap analyses and recommend solutions that can be enabled within data systems.
Provide trade-off analyses of technical solutions to determine suitable tools and methodologies for complex data requests.
Create project deliverables and artifacts that adhere to team compliance and quality standards.
Use source data to assess project and business-process effectiveness.
Analyze requirement changes with team members and recommend timely, expedient solutions.
Create dashboards and disseminate metrics to provide end users with visibility into data and metrics.
Translate complex issues from multiple information sources into a clear picture for mission leadership using advanced analytical skills.
