Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Automation Engineer with a focus on Siemens PLCs.
  • Expert level knowledge of Siemens Step7, TIA Portal, Safety ES, WinCC flexible & Advanced.
  • Proficiency in designing control systems.
  • Strong MS Office, AutoCAD Mechanical & Electrical, E-Plan skills.
  • Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.
  • Excellent analytical thinking and innovative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (English / Spanish) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Testing and debugging of automation equipment while applying knowledge of engineering technology.
  • Programming, troubleshooting, and evaluating design considerations on new and existing systems and equipment.
  • Maintaining a backup library of PLC, instrumentation software, and electrical documentation.
  • Designing and implementing engineering solutions that meet project requirements while monitoring budget constraints.
  • Maximizing production equipment quality and efficiency.
  • Preparation of project scope, cost justification, and AFE (overall cost proposal) for senior management approval.
  • Applying mechanical theory, mechanical testing procedures, and related knowledge to layout, build, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify production equipment.
  • Evaluating, selecting, and coordinating with outside vendors for design, machining, and fabrication of parts and systems.
  • Willingness to travel for projects on short notice, including weekends (approximately 70% travel, typically 1-2 weeks at a time).
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
