About The Position

Clarios is seeking an Automation Engineer to join our team. This role involves collaborating with Subject Matter Expert (SME) leaders and Product Engineering teams to design systems, create change identification triggers, develop standards for criteria, and establish approval processes to minimize complexities and improve profitability. The Automation Engineer will ensure automated processes and equipment adhere to environmental regulations and sustainability goals, promoting eco-friendly practices in manufacturing operations to reduce carbon footprint. This position will coordinate manufacturing equipment proposals within the region, focusing on new launches, Continuous Improvement (CI), and capacity equipment to standardize equipment and processes. The role includes implementing ideas into efficient automated systems for regional applications, examining design processes for systems that meet regional operational goals, creating prototypes, conducting quality control and functional tests, and troubleshooting system malfunctions. Additionally, the Automation Engineer will monitor the performance of applications and machines, write comprehensive reports and guidelines, manage documentation, and provide training to SMEs and operations teams. This role requires collaboration with multiple functional groups within the region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or related field of study and 7 years of progressive experience in Manufacturing Engineering.
  • 5 years of experience with FactoryTalk Studio 5000 software.
  • 5 years of experience with FactoryTalk View Studio software.
  • Functional Safety and IEC, ANSI and ISA standards.
  • Manufacturing operations.
  • Designing with AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • PLC programming.
  • Estimating costs and managing budgets for automation projects.
  • Robotics and vision systems for automated manufacturing processes.
  • Implementing cybersecurity measures for OT network security and access control.
  • Using FactoryTalk Security software.
  • FactoryTalk AssetCentre install, administration, and audit.
  • Using IFM – IOLink communication system.
  • Using a Fanuc Teach Pendant tablet.
  • Using the Simatic TIA Portal.
