Automation Engineer
About The Position
Midwest multi-disciplined engineering firm is looking to add an Automation Engineer to their Naperville team! This role involves the design, installation, commissioning, and testing of instrumentation & control systems (SCADA). The engineer will collaborate with internal departments and provide project management, team management, and quality control. Responsibilities include providing instrumentation & control design services for water/wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, and related facilities. The role requires onsite work for municipal clients, including instrumentation configuration, installation assistance, and control system and process start-up/testing. The position also includes on-call duties rotating weekly for troubleshooting instrumentation/control issues.
Requirements
- B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
- 5+ years of experience as an Electrical/Controls Engineer performing design, programming, installation and startup tasks
- Programming experience using PLCs, SCADA, and OITs software
- Experience using various products (Concentric Integration primarily include Allen-Bradley SLC, MicroLogix, CompactLogix, ControlLogix, PanelView, Rockwell FactoryTalk View, GE iFIX, Inductive Automation Ignition, Wonderware System Platform, InTouch, and other hardware/software)
- Advanced computer skills
- Must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship
Nice To Haves
- Auto CAD/Visio experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Design, installation, commissioning, and testing of instrumentation & control systems (SCADA)
- Collaborate with internal departments including information technology, engineering, and operations
- Provide project management, manage teams, and ensure quality control during all phases of project
- Provide instrumentation & control design services for water/wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, and related facilities
- Onsite work for municipal clients (instrumentation configuration, installation assistance, and control system and process start-up/testing)
- On-call 24/7 (rotate weekly) to troubleshoot instrumentation/control issues
