Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Automation, or related field) or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in automation, controls, or manufacturing environments
  • Experience in equipment implementation and integration
  • PLC programming and troubleshooting (e.g., Allen-Bradley preferred)
  • HMI/SCADA development (e.g., FactoryTalk)
  • Robotic programming and troubleshooting (ABB, Fanuc, Yaskawa preferred)
  • Machine vision systems (e.g., Keyence)
  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and control systems
  • CAD software proficiency (AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
  • Understanding of IT/OT integration, process control strategies, and industrial networks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Strong documentation and technical writing skills
  • Continuous improvement mindset and adaptability to new technologies
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
  • Visual acuity is necessary to read prints, specifications and work instructions, manipulate parts, tools, machines and other objects.
  • Hearing acuity to understand verbal instructions, respond to emergency signals.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak the English language to communicate with other staff
  • Exposure to moderate to high levels of noise, laser beams, flashing or blinking lights, machine signals and other sounds associated with a manufacturing environment.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the form of safety glasses and safety footwear is required when on the shop floor.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement automated systems, robotics, and control solutions to support manufacturing operations
  • Lead automation projects, including new equipment launches, system integration, and process improvements
  • Optimize production performance through data analysis, cycle time reduction, and system enhancements
  • Program and configure automation technologies (PLC, HMI, SCADA, robotics, and vision systems)
  • Develop and integrate machine vision systems for inspection, error-proofing, and quality control
  • Support and implement Industry 4.0 initiatives, including data connectivity, IIoT integration, smart manufacturing, and real-time monitoring systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, production, IT/OT, and vendors) to deliver integrated solutions
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean manufacturing and error-proofing strategies
  • Evaluate and implement new automation technologies to improve efficiency, quality, and scalability
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, and best practices
  • Provide technical guidance and training to operations and engineering teams
  • Hands-on involvement in high-impact manufacturing and digital transformation initiatives
