About The Position

The Automation Engineer is responsible for supporting both new and existing automation equipment across various facilities and departments. Their technical expertise helps in reducing operating costs, increasing productivity, minimizing labor intensive operations, and enhancing product quality. Additionally, they participate in the coordination of capital investment projects. This role involves designing, developing, and implementing automated systems to improve efficiency and productivity. The engineer will evaluate and provide justification, specifications, scope of work, design drawings, bidding, scheduling, supervision, and commissioning of assigned automation projects. They will provide support for all automation equipment across various facilities and departments, utilizing technical expertise in fields such as mechanical, electrical, automation, and process engineering. The position also requires exploring ways to improve or upgrade automation systems, participating in the CAPEX preparation process, and monitoring overall cost, quality, and time constraints of these investments. The Automation Engineer will arrange outside contractors to perform work at the facility and participate in the preparation and maintenance of engineering designs with the ability to perform basic design work using CAD software.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of three years of work experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Automation programming/PLC experience in a manufacturing environment including process controls, problem solving, troubleshooting, design and implementation of automated systems.
  • Ability to use CAD software, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in writing and communicating detailed engineering reports, showing ability to identify problems, and recommend process improvements.
