About The Position

As an intern, you will gain practical experience through various projects and learn by performing assigned tasks. You will support ABB’s operations while developing your skills and education-related employment opportunities. The role focuses on deploying and integrating automation and robotic systems across the facility, supporting Automation Engineers with industrial control systems, and installing and commissioning field devices. The position is onsite in New Berlin, Wisconsin. No relocation assistance or stipend is offered; candidates must live within 50 miles of the office and arrange their own transportation.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Data Science, Machine Learning, or another relevant field in the United States.
Have reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
Be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
Use critical thinking to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions.
Organize and prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
Manage several tasks at once while maintaining high standards of quality.
Collaborate with team members to convey ideas, share information, and provide project progress updates.

Responsibilities

Assist with the deployment and integration of automation and robotic systems across the facility.
Support Automation Engineers in configuring and troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, robotics, and SCADA systems.
Install and commission field devices such as vision systems, pick-to-light technology, and industrial sensors.
Manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
