About The Position

As an Automation Engineer III at CRB, you are essential to the creation of purposeful, high-performance processes and facilities that have a positive, lasting impression on people, our clients and the community. Your experience allows you to execute and lead small projects through all phases of design, documentation and administration, as well as actively support large projects within a multi-discipline team setting. You will leverage your creativity with your knowledge of mechanical system controls, process automation controls and regulatory standards to solve problems that balance technical and design excellence. Working collaboratively with key CRB stakeholders, this individual will be responsible to charter a proposed roadmap to advance CRB’s I&C preeminence in the Life Science Industry and capture additional market share by expanding the I&C services provided by CRB.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline from an ABET-accredited program
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably within a consulting or design firm environment
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with cross-functional engineering teams, vendors, and construction partners
  • Ability to perform discipline-specific calculations with limited supervision
  • Basic troubleshooting skills related to instrumentation, controls, and associated systems

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification or active registration
  • Working knowledge of cGMP manufacturing environments
  • Experience performing instrumentation and controls engineering calculations and supporting control system design and implementation
  • Experience developing control system schematics, panel fabrication drawings, and field wiring diagrams
  • Experience creating and interpreting Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other applicable industry standards
  • Familiarity with mechanical and building codes
  • Basic experience in the design and application of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)

Responsibilities

  • Interfaces with clients and external partners.
  • Supporting global strategic project pursuits and win strategies, increasing CRB’s market capture
  • Serving as a global resource to work across several Global Strategic Opportunities (GSOs) and serve as a trainer to share best practices
  • Key stakeholder in the evaluation and selection of CRB’s new I&C database (Replacing our i4 platform)
  • Interfacing with CRB Leadership, shaping strategy for I&C related to GSOs best practices
  • Plans and directs work and manages a project budget from a discipline design perspective on small projects of limited complexity.
  • Be a premier thought leader and CRB industry representative. Building brand and reputation across all regions, engaging our Process and I&C team. Presenting at conferences and personally engaging with industry and clients contacts.
  • Increase CRB’s market capture by participating in early client engagement and pre-positioning, strategizing on project-win strategies including proposal and interviews.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with industry partners and existing clients to strengthen CRB’s reputation as a trusted advisor and partner.
  • Leading the Life Science Process Architecture team, responsible for team performance and balancing
  • Ambassador within CRB for I&C across regions and GSOs
  • Champion and embody CRB’s culture, values, and vision.
  • Serve as mentor, connector, and advocate for employees, fostering career development and professional growth.
  • Ensure employees feel connected to the company’s vision, direction, and strategic goals and engage in a broader organizational purpose translated at a local level.
  • Elevate market and employee insights back to CRB, enabling informed decision making and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as the brand ambassador in the marketplace, reinforcing CRB’s reputation as a leader in integrated design and construction.
  • Promote CRB’s commitment to safety by design.
  • Work closely with the VP of Life Sciences, POR and Regional Ops to drive technical excellence consistency supporting strategic company goals. Ultimately differentiating CRB from the rest of the competition through superior technical excellence, innovation and mentoring.
