Automation Engineer II will be primarily engaged in the development, implementation, and modification activities of the plant vision systems, controls, motion, and communications systems. Duties include but are not limited to: Comply with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and LOTOTO. Programming and maintenance of Programmable Logic Controls (PLC), Robotics, and Human Machine Interface/SCADA (HMI). Perform program and schematic version control and archiving. Vision systems maintenance, development, and optimization. Develop and design machine controls for automation machines, upgrades to our current standard machines, line modifications, and additions. Conceive, develop, and carry out projects that will automate, improve quality, reduce operating costs, increase yield and reduce downtime. Capable of operating lathe and milling machines. Practice effective communication and cross-functional networking promoting team work. Utilize and apply knowledge of: Electric/Electronic Control Circuitry, Sensors, Encoders, and Instruments, Motors and Electronic Drives. Ability to work with CAD software and capable of create 2D drawing. Able to provide and assist with Technical Writing in English. Provide guidance and instructions to Technicians and Mechanics. Provide support for all plant Automation, and Robotic Systems. Support in validation activities and improvements. Support Technical Services Manager and Team. Supports manufacturing by being available to troubleshoot the technically more challenging emergencies. Analyze, modify, and create technical documentation including but not limited to CAD models, Schematics, User Manuals, and Troubleshooting Guides. Ability to work on multiple projects independently and as a team.
