About The Position

The IACS Cybersecurity Engineer position is responsible for anticipating complex internal and external business issues impacting the organization and recommending innovative program solutions. This role involves resolving technical issues related to networks, login schemes, and certificates to ensure manufacturing activities continue to run smoothly, addressing both urgent and long-term problems. The engineer will re-design and troubleshoot Cybersecurity equipment such as network switches, routers, firewalls, servers, and networked automation components, implementing effective solutions. Key responsibilities include improving processes, methods, and production controls for manufacturing systems, and setting up new or retrofitted equipment with a focus on enhancing safety and cybersecurity. The role also involves generating and leading the development of new ideas, testing new techniques, and ensuring new processes and products meet requirements defined by Product Engineering and Quality departments. Improvements to existing work practices and the integration of new process control capabilities are expected. The engineer will identify, design, and assist in purchasing equipment for manufacturing process development, evaluate vendor proposals, and participate in new product design reviews, FMEA, failure investigations, design control activities, and personnel training. Creating financial justifications for new equipment to boost capacity, reliability, and quality is also a part of the role. The engineer will utilize lessons learned from past events to inform decisions and implement Lean manufacturing principles, including 5S and sustaining good working practices. The development and deployment of digital manufacturing technology and agile automation production system solutions into a global manufacturing facility are critical. This includes managing and leading automation and digitalization efforts for all of manufacturing, providing training, developing operators and maintenance technicians, monitoring progression, and facilitating and coaching employees through special projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelors in Engineering/Information Technology/Computer Science (Electrical Engineering preferred).
  • 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in configuring and troubleshoot ethernet networks and industrial control components on the network.
  • Experience setting Firewall rules, working in Active directory, Setting up VLANs across a network.
  • Experience in Certificate based communication protocols and setting up CA type Certificates.
  • Experience working with automation systems and PLCs (Siemens S7 preferred).
  • Industrial experience with installation and maintaining PLC's, HMI's, plant networks, servers, and related equipment.
  • Understanding of industrial communication protocols such as Profinet, Ethernet I/P, and Modbus TCP.
  • Ability to proficiently communicate ideas and concepts, developing the ability to persuade and influence others as needed, explaining why things are done the way they are within a broader organizational context.
  • Solid understanding and background in manufacturing with a proven record of technical accomplishments.
  • Ability to work independently to develop, collect and interpret data, and prepare reports and work instructions for a variety of projects.
  • Be able to read and understand technical drawings and procedures.
  • Ability to contribute to bid and proposal processes.
  • Ability to communicate ideas and concepts, explaining detailed technical information.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and assertiveness, the ability to plan and manage work in an efficient manner, and the ability to work well under stress and time pressures.

Nice To Haves

  • Desirable experience with Siemens S7, TIA Portal, Allen Bradley SLC & Control Logix.
  • Ability to operate machines and power tools is preferable.

Responsibilities
