About The Position

Advanced Manufacturing Automation will be a member of a highly technical engineering team focused on the development, implementation, and support of manufacturing equipment built internally or externally. This position will be expected to support both electrical and mechanical troubleshooting at all Pella locations. This position will be expected to support and develop advanced technical team members at all Pella locations.

Requirements

  • Pass drug screen
  • Pass pre-work ability screen
  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • Pass pre-employment tests
  • Work in a team environment with the ability to communicate in a concise, polite and respectful manner
  • PLC programing experience is required
  • Job related experience is required
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Read and interpret blueprints
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficient mechanical and math aptitude
  • Decision making/problem solving skills
  • Time management
  • Ability to work with internal and external customers

  • Manufacturing experience is preferred
  • Formal Technical training preferred

Responsibilities

  • Comply with safety, quality, and production requirements and procedures
  • Regular/dependable attendance required
  • Flexibility of work hours including overtime
  • Able to work with and around moving equipment/machines
  • Excellent working knowledge of tools, mechanical drives/systems, electrical/hydraulic systems, and programmable controllers
  • Provide support for Continuous Improvement activities
  • Wire and program systems for equipment/machines
  • Support and implementation of controls for new and/or existing machines or processes using a variety of hardware components which include PLC’s, HMI’s, CNC’s, PC’s, Robotics, motion controllers, and standard industrial controls.
  • Flexibility to travel – 25% or Greater
  • Promotes safety through design and actions
  • Applies advanced computers skills such as AutoCAD, RSLogix, RSView, AlphaCAM & Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to rotate to other positions as needed
  • Participate in Kaizen events and other activities as assigned
  • Other duties may be assigned
