Troubleshooting, diagnosis, and short-term resolution of issues that negatively affect pharmacy automation performance. This helps maintain a “Steady State” level of pharmacy productivity. 2. Development/Implementation of long-term solutions for ongoing automation Issues, via the use of our Engineering Change Control Process (ECCR). This helps drive incremental improvements to the process, which raise the “Steady State” level of pharmacy productivity over time. 3. Provide guidance, oversight, and implementation support for new vendor-provided automation projects. This helps drive transformational changes to the process, which raise the “Steady State” level of pharmacy productivity above and beyond what can be achieved through smaller, incremental improvements. 4. Create documentation (e.g. Manuals, SOPs, Test Plans, Training Guides, etc.) to help support the ongoing knowledge/maintenance of the automation equipment amongst the support staff (e.g. engineers, technicians, operators, etc.). 5. Provide training on new automation equipment and new features on existing automation equipment to pharmacy personnel, including technicians, equipment operators, and management.

Requirements

  • Experience maintaining/troubleshooting material handling systems, particularly in a pharmacy setting.
  • Ability to identify/develop engineering solutions to repetitive failures and other problems that adversely affect pharmacy operations. These may include capacity, quality, cost, or regulatory compliance issues.
  • Ability to work with engineering and operations management to analyze automation-driven systems, including: Equipment Availability Equipment Performance Equipment Quality Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) Other parameters that define operating conditions, reliability, and cost of assets
  • Ability to analyze engineering-design concepts and proposals for new automation equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls, and safety/security systems.
  • Ability to review supplier documentation and drawings, proposing design modifications to improve performance within cost and scheduling constraints.
  • Ability to develop criteria for and evaluation of equipment and suppliers. Develop acceptance tests and inspection criteria.
  • Willingness to observe and/or conduct tests at supplier and pharmacy locations to evaluate equipment construction, installation, and behavior vs. requirements.
  • Willingness to participate in a collaborative vendor evaluation/selection process for new automation equipment/processes.
  • Willingness to train staff on new automation equipment and new features on existing automation equipment.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Program/troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) applications, with a focus on the Allen-Bradley line of PLC products.
  • Work off-hours in “all hands-on deck” situations when there’s a significant outage at the site, participating remotely initially, but traveling to the site if necessary. This should be a rare occurrence, but essential to keep business operations functioning.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time for meetings, design reviews, project implementations, etc. with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office/365 suite of software products.
  • Standing up to 8 hours/day
