About The Position

The role of the Automation & Controls Engineering Intern is to contribute to the Nucor team, focusing on achieving exceptional results in the areas of safety, cost, and reliability. The role will be hands-on and interactive with the maintenance and production teams in the field.

Requirements

  • Rising Junior or Senior.
  • Fundamental knowledge of automation and controls.
  • Willing to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US, Nucor Steel Brandenburg will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Learning automation/control and process fundamentals involved in steel making.
  • Maintenance/Engineering projects focused on safety, cost, and reliability.
  • Preventive & predictive maintenance programs and routines.
  • Routine maintenance and troubleshooting equipment and process related issues.
  • Learning and applying new skills in automation, controls, power transmission and pneumatics.
