About The Position

This position is with Henkel's Adhesive Technologies business unit, which focuses on empowering people to transform industries and provide customers with a competitive advantage through adhesives, sealants, and functional coatings. The role involves analyzing and summarizing existing process needs, collaborating with external resources to develop automation, digital, and intelligent solutions. It also leverages Artificial Intelligence and advanced analytics to optimize process parameters, improve product quality, and increase manufacturing efficiency. The engineer will contribute to controls- and automation-related projects from feasibility analysis to start-up, including MES deployment and enhancement. Additionally, the role involves developing and implementing Machine Learning models for production data analysis and leading site-level Cybersecurity initiatives for operational technology (OT) environments.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three to five years’ experience in industrial manufacturing automation
  • Experience with programming of VFDs, PLCs, PLC safety systems, and OT security
  • Ability to plan, manage, and execute complex project activities with little to no oversight
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams

Nice To Haves

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in mechatronics, electrical, chemical, or mechanical engineering, computer science, or similar field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing and summarizing existing process needs and collaborating with external resources to develop automation, digital and intelligent solutions.
  • Leveraging Artificial Intelligence and advanced analytics to optimize process parameters, improve product quality, and increase manufacturing efficiency.
  • Contributing from feasibility analysis to start-up of controls- and automation-related projects, as well as MES deployment and enhancement activities.
  • Developing and implementing Machine Learning models to analyze production data, identify trends, and predict equipment failures, improving uptime and reducing unplanned downtime.
  • Leading site-level Cybersecurity initiatives by developing, implementing, and documenting security strategies aligned with corporate standards and industry best practices for operational technology (OT) environments.
