About The Position

As an Automation control designer, you will have to design, develop and maintain electrical control systems and/or components to required specifications, focusing on economy, safety, reliability, quality and sustainability. You will also be designing the program for the different machines' elements, like the PLC or the HMI.

Design, develop and maintain electrical control systems and/or components to required specifications, focusing on economy, safety, reliability, quality and sustainability.
Designing the program for the different machines' elements, like the PLC or the HMI.

Responsibilities

Create, correct, and update the electrical designs.
Create and update Bill of Materials (BOM).
Responsible for programming all machines elements (PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, etc.)
Writes the procedures and identify programming parameters for VFDs, Servo Drives, Temperature controllers, and other electrical instruments.
Train and guide the technician's installation and configuring the software.
Solve the electrical issues and support of the Production, Services, Purchasing, and Sales department.
Ensure the machines comply with required standards (CSA and UL).
Confirms system's and components' capabilities by designing testing methods.
Test finished products and system capabilities (test the sequence and functionality).
Participate actively to engineering meetings and respect the established deadlines.
Write software installation procedures and software test procedures.
Follows global industry standards and company practices, rules and procedures.
