About The Position

This position is responsible for creating, managing, and overseeing the DC Control system master plan. The role supports plans and initiatives to maintain system performance, executes planned outages and troubleshooting, and develops and maintains relationships with other departments, vendors, and key stakeholders. The manager identifies and communicates goals, builds accountability, and measures progress. They also identify and address improvement opportunities, demonstrate adaptability, and promote continuous learning to ensure business needs are met. This includes developing the skills of site associates, creating and facilitating training content, and participating in recruiting initiatives. The role involves consulting with business partners, soliciting suggestions for efficiency, and managing multiple projects within Operations. This includes owning the programming definition, testing, and execution for Industrial Control Systems, Programmable Logic Controllers, Industrial PCs, controls communication, and Human-to-Machine Interfaces. The manager establishes project activities, deliverables, milestones, and timelines, coordinates planning activities, tracks plan changes, and resolves critical issues. They identify necessary resources, deliver presentations and status reports, and troubleshoot and analyze operational processes, automation equipment, and case flow nonconformities. The role leads root cause analysis, drives equipment reliability and process stability, and supports control system resolution. It also engages cross-functional departments and vendor teams, evaluates and manages control systems performance, utilization, and capacities, and creates detailed reporting for continuous improvement projects. The manager partners with customers and vendors to enable maximum system performance and champions technology improvements to reduce effort, increase productivity, and accelerate business goals. They lead process improvement of control system architecture, change management, and the development and integration of electrical and control systems for automation equipment. The role also observes DC electrical safety and power systems, ensuring department performance related to training, implementation, execution, and change management. Finally, the position provides supervision and development opportunities for associates, ensuring compliance with company policies and supporting the company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, electrical engineering, or related area.
  • 2 years’ experience as a multiskilled maintenance technician.
  • 2 years’ work experience in automation or control systems.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures business needs are met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives.
  • Develops the skills and abilities of site associates.
  • Creates and facilitates training content and programs, including Associate Work Instruction development.
  • Participates in internal and external recruiting initiatives.
  • Manages multiple projects within Operations, defining scopes of work and project objectives (e.g., programming definition, testing, and execution for Industrial Control Systems, PLC, Industrial PCs, controls communication, and HMI).
  • Establishes project activities, deliverables, milestones, and timelines.
  • Coordinates planning activities (e.g., business requirements, risk assessments, target dates) and assembles management plans.
  • Tracks plan changes and ensures the resolution of critical issues.
  • Identifies the resources needed for project completion.
  • Delivers presentations, status reports, and other project documentation to internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Troubleshoots and analyzes operational processes, automation equipment, and case flow nonconformities.
  • Leads root cause analysis and drives equipment reliability and process stability.
  • Supports control system resolution.
  • Engages cross-functional departments and vendor teams as necessary.
  • Evaluates and manages control systems performance, utilization, and capacities.
  • Creates and leverages detailed reporting to understand system performance and implements continuous improvement projects around employee performance and system operations.
  • Partners and maintains transparent relationships with customers and other vendor contacts to enable maximum system performance.
  • Champions technology improvements to current platform standards to reduce effort, increase productivity, and accelerate business goals.
  • Leads the process improvement of control system architecture, change management, and the development and integration of electrical and control systems for automation equipment on product and packaging initiatives, capacity, and savings projects.
  • Observes DC electrical safety and power systems and recovery by monitoring and ensuring department performance related to training, implementation, execution, and change management.
  • Coordinates, completes, and oversees job-related activities and assignments.
  • Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, providing recognition, and promoting a belonging mindset.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
