About The Position

HGA is seeking a Staker/Designer III to support operations in Durango, CO. This senior-level role independently leads highly complex design and field staking activities for overhead and underground electric distribution systems supporting multiple utility clients. The position requires advanced technical expertise, strong field and project leadership, and the ability to manage projects from concept through completion with minimal direction.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in electric distribution design, staking, surveying, or joint-use projects.
• Proven ability to lead complex projects independently in both field and office environments.
• Strong technical writing, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain strong client relationships.
• Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
• Must live within the greater Four Corners area (Durango, Cortez, or Pagosa Springs, CO, Farmington, NM, etc.) or be willing to relocate.

Nice To Haves

• Associate or technical degree in drafting, engineering technology, or related field.
• Advanced experience with utility design software, GIS platforms, and staking applications.
• Proficiency in PLS-CADD and O-Calc.
• Prior experience mentoring junior designers or serving in a lead/senior design role.
