About The Position

We are seeking an Automation & Commissioning Machine Seibi to support the installation, programming, commissioning, and launch of advanced manufacturing equipment within automotive Body and Battery production environments. This role will be responsible for robot and PLC programming, equipment startup, troubleshooting electrical control systems, validating safety systems, and supporting production launches across multiple manufacturing facilities throughout North America. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, maintenance, production, and equipment suppliers to ensure equipment meets manufacturing, quality, and safety requirements from installation through Start of Production (SOP).

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree, Technical Degree, Engineering Degree, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with industrial automation and manufacturing equipment.
  • PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience with electrical controls and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with equipment installation, commissioning, and production startup support.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Strong root cause analysis and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to travel throughout North America as project needs require.

Nice To Haves

  • Automotive manufacturing experience within Body Weld, Battery, Assembly, or related operations.
  • Experience with industrial robotics and robot programming.
  • Experience with PLC platforms such as: Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Omron, Toyopuc
  • Experience with servo systems, safety circuits, industrial networking, and machine controls.
  • Experience supporting production launches, equipment installations, and model change projects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform online and offline robot programming and support automation system integration.
  • Develop, modify, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC programs and electrical control systems.
  • Support equipment installation, startup, commissioning, validation, and production launch activities.
  • Verify equipment compliance with manufacturing, safety, and automation standards.
  • Confirm proper operation of machine safety systems, interlocks, guarding, and safety devices.
  • Conduct equipment buyoffs and production readiness reviews.
  • Troubleshoot automation, controls, robotics, and electrical issues during installation and launch phases.
  • Support model change activities and implementation of new manufacturing equipment.
  • Train plant maintenance personnel on operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of newly installed equipment.
  • Support manufacturing operations through launch and Start of Production (SOP).
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, contractors, suppliers, and plant personnel to achieve project objectives.
  • Travel to manufacturing facilities throughout North America to support equipment installations and launch activities.
