Automation Applications Sales Engineer

About The Position

RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage, develop, and expand a sales territory of existing customers and identify new customers and opportunities; Develop and follow a territory sales plan that aligns with growth forecasts and sales goals; Build successful internal and external customer relationships; Be part of a team that effectively utilizes Company resources and shares leads with other sales colleagues; Work independently without daily supervision, but remain responsive to Company management requests for assignments and account intelligence; Facilitate the sales forecast and input to the company’s CRM system; Become very knowledgeable on assigned product lines, striving to become a resource of solutions for assigned customers; Negotiate win-win contracts that make good business sense for the Company and our customers; Travel throughout the assigned territory with overnight travel as required. REQUIREMENTS: 2-5 years of automation & controls outside sales experience with application knowledge of AC & DC Drives, PLCs, Industrial Ethernet, Sensors & Control products; An engineering degree is required; Strong technical and communication skills both written and verbal; Proven track record—the candidate has successfully demonstrated technical know-how in previous jobs or project assignments; Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer, and contact management/CRM software; Mechanical and/or electro-mechanical aptitude.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of automation & controls outside sales experience with application knowledge of AC & DC Drives, PLCs, Industrial Ethernet, Sensors & Control products
  • An engineering degree is required

  • Proven track record—the candidate has successfully demonstrated technical know-how in previous jobs or project assignments
