About The Position

As an Automation and Controls Specialist you will be responsible for all high-level automation related to PLC programming, troubleshooting, calibrating, and instrumentation systems used in processing operations to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety and quality standards. Reports to the Maintenance Supervisor. Works closely with operations personnel, engineering teams, and other maintenance staff – specifically Electricians and Mechanics. On occasion work with and support Capital and internal Projects, External Service Technicians, and Contractors.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with PLCs, control loops, and automation systems. Process control expertise preferred.
  • Experience with RS Logix 5, RS Logix 5000, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View, CCP for Rockwell components.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain HMIs (LOS) Screens using appropriate tools (e.g. FactoryTalkview, WinView applications).
  • PLC programming of Analog control includes PID Loop control for Temperature, Speed, Weight, Pressure and Flow.
  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance on instrumentation systems.
  • Calibrate and troubleshoot sensors, transmitters, and control systems. Tank Scale calibrations include Heavy lifting of test weights to perform the calibration.
  • Maintain documentation of maintenance activities and calibration records.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Collaborate with operations and engineering to resolve instrumentation issues.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and root cause analysis.
  • Maintain and repair automation and operational technology (OT) systems.
  • Maintain inventory of instrumentation spare parts and tools.
  • Support installation and commissioning of new instrumentation equipment.
