About The Position

The Automation Analyst will provide support to the Senior Automation Analyst, performing daily maintenance and support of department business information systems. This role involves processing tax billings and payment files, serving as a primary processor for the internal lock box, and maintaining/troubleshooting office hardware and software. The analyst will also participate in automation projects, analyze and develop automated solutions, and train staff on computer systems and software. Collaboration with users, vendors, and the IT department is expected for problem-solving and research into new technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, business administration or a related field.
  • Two years of experience in the implementation and support of business information systems.
  • An equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Working knowledge of concepts of microcomputer technology and related software.
  • Working knowledge of principles of office automation systems.
  • Ability to analyze routine to moderately complex business problems for potential automation solutions.
  • Ability to document processes and procedures and develop training documentation.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and maintain computer hardware and software.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer and related software and other standard office equipment.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the Senior Automation Analyst.
  • Perform annual and monthly tax billings.
  • Process batch payment files of various types through the revenue collection system.
  • Serve as a primary processor for the internal lock box.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot office hardware and software.
  • Request work tickets when necessary.
  • Serve on departmental and cross-functional teams for automation projects.
  • Perform day-to-day maintenance and support of department business information systems.
  • Perform and review daily, monthly, and annual jobs and reports associated with departmental applications.
  • Participate in the analysis and development of automated solutions to business problems.
  • Confer with users to diagnose, investigate, and solve computer hardware and software problems.
  • Develop and conduct training in the use of computer systems and software for department staff.
  • Consult with vendors and the IT department for technical support.
  • Participate in the research and evaluation of new and enhanced hardware and software products.
  • Perform other work as required.
