About The Position

Metrify Smart Metering, Germany’s largest competitive smart metering operator and a spin-off from Enpal, is seeking an Automation & AI Integrations Specialist to join the Customer Service team. This role focuses on designing and building reliable workflows across various modern tools, transforming real-world processes into dependable automation. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills, technical curiosity, and an excellent debugging mindset to contribute to the company's mission of enabling utilities, grid operators, and energy providers to install and operate smart meters. Metrify is performing the fastest smart meter roll-out in the German market at an unprecedented scale, aiming to shape the future of a digitally transformed grid.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical mindset: ability to quickly understand a use case, clarify requirements, and propose a practical build plan.
  • Proven ability to debug: ability to isolate issues, inspect logs/data, reproduce errors, and fix root causes.
  • Solid understanding of how integrations work: APIs, webhooks, auth, and structured data (JSON/CSV).
  • Basic coding experience (scripting/automation-level): enough to transform data, write small utilities, and reason about logic.
  • Comfort with modern collaboration tools and practices (docs, ticketing, structured communication).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with automation platforms like Make, Zapier, n8n, or similar.
  • Experience with tools like Airtable, Notion databases, or operational data systems (forms, linked records, permissions).
  • Database fundamentals (tables/relationships, basic SQL; Postgres/Supabase is a plus).
  • Familiarity with Git/GitHub (repos, branches, pull requests) at a practical level.
  • Experience integrating with ticketing/CRM systems (e.g., Intercom, Zendesk, Salesforce).
  • Experience working with AI workflows (agent orchestration, evaluation, prompt iteration).

Responsibilities

  • Design automation solutions: translate business needs into workflow designs (inputs → logic → outputs), including edge cases and failure handling.
  • Build and maintain automated workflows across tools (e.g., automation platforms, databases/spreadsheets, ticketing/CRM systems, internal tooling).
  • Set up and improve AI agents (e.g., Langdock-style agents): prompting, evaluation, integrations, and safe rollout of changes.
  • Integrate with APIs: webhooks, authentication, JSON payloads, pagination, and troubleshooting.
  • Improve reliability and observability: logging, alerts, retries, idempotency, and runbooks so workflows can be operated confidently.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with ops and product to continuously refine and scale workflows.
  • Document workflows clearly so others can understand and operate them.
  • Optimize for safety, auditability, and maintainability.
