About The Position

Piedmont Door Solutions is looking for an Automatic Door Repair and Install Technician for their Columbia, SC branch. This role involves repairing, maintaining, and installing doors in various commercial settings such as buildings, hospitals, and stores. The company provides comprehensive training, tools, equipment, and vehicles. The technician will learn to install, repair, and maintain doors, turnstiles, revolving doors, and other entrance or security products. They will be expected to proactively assist in projects, learn new techniques, maintain a professional worksite, and collaborate with office staff for parts and time tracking.

Requirements

• Automatic door or similar experience
• Good understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
• Problem solving and diagnostic skills
• Familiarity with power and hand tools
• Must possess an unrestricted and valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• High school diploma or GED
• Comfortable using power tools and hand tools - personally or professionally
• Ability to stand, bend, and/or climb for long periods of time in a non-climate-controlled environment
• Ability to lift 75+ pounds
• Ability to work at heights/use a ladder
• Successful completion of a background check and drug screen required
• Clean criminal and motor vehicle record
• Yearly flu shots and TB tests are required

Nice To Haves

• Preference for having worked with carpentry, electric, military, HVAC, or similar

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain doors, turnstiles, revolving doors, and other entrance or security products
• Proactively assist in projects, demonstrating autonomy in a high-expectation, low-supervision environment
• Learn techniques from trainers, building on existing skills and showing a desire to grow
• Ensure a clean, organized, and professional worksite, paying attention to detail, taking pride in workmanship, and solving problems for customers
• Order and track parts, materials, and time spent on services
