About The Position

Piedmont Door Solutions is seeking an Automatic Door Repair and Install Technician for its Greensboro, NC branch, supporting north NC. This role involves repairing, maintaining, and installing doors in various commercial settings such as buildings, hospitals, and stores. The company provides comprehensive training, tools, equipment, and vehicles. Technicians are expected to learn and master the installation, repair, and maintenance of doors, turnstiles, revolving doors, and other entrance or security products. The position requires initiative, a proactive approach to projects, and the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision. Technicians will learn new techniques, adapt to challenges, and maintain a professional and organized worksite, paying close attention to detail and solving customer problems. Collaboration with office staff for parts ordering and tracking is also part of the role.

Requirements

Automatic door or similar experience
Good understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
Problem solving and diagnostic skills
Familiarity with power and hand tools
Must possess an unrestricted and valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
High school diploma or GED
Comfortable using power tools and hand tools - personally or professionally
Ability to stand, bend, and/or climb for long periods of time in a non-climate-controlled environment
Ability to lift 75+ pounds
Ability to work at heights/use a ladder
Successful completion of a background check and drug screen
Clean criminal and motor vehicle record
Yearly flu shots and TB tests are required

Nice To Haves

Preference for having worked with carpentry, electric, military, HVAC, or similar

Responsibilities

Install, repair, and maintain doors, turnstiles, revolving doors, and other entrance or security products
Proactively assist in projects, demonstrating autonomy in a high-expectation, low-supervision environment to drive project success
Learn techniques from trainers, building on existing skills and showing a desire to grow
Ensure a clean, organized, and professional worksite, paying attention to detail, taking pride in workmanship, and solving problems for customers
Order and track parts, materials, and time spent on services
