Automatic Door Installer
About The Position
Join our growing team as an Installation Technician, where you'll play a key role in the installation of state-of-the-art automatic door systems. In this hands-on position, you'll assist with site preparation, take accurate measurements, perform construction work such as framing and build-ins, and support the successful completion of installation projects. You'll work alongside experienced technicians, maintain tools and equipment, follow safety best practices, and deliver exceptional customer service at a variety of job sites throughout Burlington, NJ and the surrounding communities.
Requirements
- A minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
- Ability to calculate basic math including fractions and read a tape measure.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
- Valid driver’s license.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in glass and aluminum store front preferred.
- Electrical background preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the Automatic Door Industry is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist with installation of automatic sliding, folding, revolving and swinging doors, operators and associated equipment.
- Assist with surveying and preparing worksite location for installation, this can include measurements, alterations and construction modifications.
- Assist and perform construction related work such as framing and build in’s.
- Proactively support our safety program and initiatives, comply with all safety policies and procedures and ensure utilization of safe work practices on site, in the warehouse and office.
- Evaluate and ensure prior to commencement of work, that the appropriate tools and equipment are working and/or available.
- Responsible for documenting the work to be performed and reviewing with the customer.
- Responsible for overseeing the care and maintenance of equipment, tools and vehicles provided by Door Services Corporation.
- Maintain that the appropriate parts inventory is in the company vehicles and ensure that items are available for work.
- Represent Door Services with customers and present them in a professional demeanor
- Travel to customer locations throughout the service area while maintaining safe driving practices.
