Automatic Door Service Technician What you'll do You'll install, service, repair, and inspect automatic pedestrian door systems — sliding, swing, and low-energy operators — ensuring every system runs safely and stays compliant with ANSI/BHMA A156.10 and A156.19 standards. You'll diagnose electrical, mechanical, and sensor-related faults, perform annual AAADM safety inspections, and represent our brand with professionalism on every customer site. The day-to-day Install, service, and repair automatic sliding, swing, and folding door operators, ADA push-plate/low-energy operators, and related access systems Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, sensor, and control issues; adjust and program operators, sensors, and safety devices Perform AAADM annual safety inspections and document compliance per ANSI/BHMA standards Service and repair door closers, pivots, panic/exit hardware, hollow metal, and storefront doors as needed Respond to dispatched service calls, maintain an organized and stocked service vehicle, and submit job paperwork accurately and on time Identify opportunities to provide customers with additional products and services Operate in a safety-conscious manner at all times

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience installing or servicing automatic doors
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of low-voltage electrical, relay logic, and wiring diagrams
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Nice To Haves

  • AAADM certification (current) — strongly preferred; we'll certify the right candidate at company expense
  • Hands-on experience with major brands such as: Stanley, Horton, Record, Nabco, Besam, Dorma, ASSA ABLOY
  • Familiarity with access control, card readers, and low-voltage security integration
  • Experience with revolving doors, storefront, and commercial overhead/dock equipment
  • 1-3 years of welding and/or electrical experience
