About The Position

The Automatic Assembly, Set Up & Operate position is responsible for setting up and operating assembly line machinery, performing changeovers, and adjusting equipment to assemble Automotive Timing Chains and Components according to established work standards. The machine operator utilizes statistical quality control methods to maintain the quality of all components and the timing chain. This role involves exacting changeovers and adjustments, working to specifications, schedules, orders, and general instructions from a supervisor. The position also includes performing preventive maintenance, basic troubleshooting of equipment, preparing test samples, recording production data, and maintaining a clean and safe work area.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • 2-5 Years of experience running multiple machines and performing preventative maintenance.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to use material handling devices such as hand trucks, and hydraulic lift trucks.

Responsibilities

  • Setting up and operating assembly line machinery.
  • Performing changeovers and adjusting assembly line equipment.
  • Assembling Automotive Timing Chains and Components according to established work standards.
  • Maintaining the quality of all components and the timing chain using statistical quality control methods.
  • Performing preventive maintenance inspections before each shift.
  • Applying oil or grease to specified areas.
  • Confirming the operability of all detectors.
  • Performing comprehensive PM on machines, including oil changes.
  • Basic troubleshooting of chain assembly equipment, including understanding alarm messages and correcting issues.
  • Adhering to work standards.
  • Maintaining production schedules, quality control records, chain assembly records, shipping charge numbers, and traceability records.
  • Preparing test samples for quality control.
  • Recording production and other required data using various forms.
  • Utilizing a machine-monitoring system to record downtime.
  • Detecting faulty operation or defective material and reporting unusual conditions.
  • Maintaining work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Following standard safety regulations.
  • Performing other similar and associated duties as required or directed.
