About The Position

Waste Connections is hiring an Automated Side Load/Automated Front Load Driver in Opa Locka, FL. This is a full-time, year-round position with a pay rate of $23-$25/hr based on experience, working approximately 50-55 hours per week. The schedule is typically Monday-Friday with occasional Saturdays. The role involves safely operating a garbage truck to collect commercial solid waste, interacting with customers, performing vehicle inspections, and adhering to safety protocols. The job requires significant physical activity and exposure to various working conditions.

Requirements

Ability to lift 50+ lbs without accommodation.
At least 2+ years of stable job history, with most recent job being a CDL driver position
At least 2 years of CDL driving experience.
No accidents on driving record in the last five years

Responsibilities

Safely operate a Automated Side Load/Automated Front Load garbage truck on specified routes to collect commercial solid waste.
Ensure accurate and timely collection and disposal of waste by operating hydraulic systems to empty containers.
Interact courteously with customers while performing the job.
Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on the vehicle to ensure it is in proper working order.
Ensure safety protocols are followed during collection and disposal.
Perform a physically demanding job, including loading and unloading waste from front-load containers.
Maintain cleanliness of the truck and work area.
Follow route sheets and service each customer assigned by the dispatcher.
