About The Position

This position is responsible for operating and/or maintaining product flow through the automated palletizing. Set up, operates, and tends a variety of automated and mechanical packaging equipment machines designed to tape, stack, palletize, and/or wrap boxes on one or more packaging lines in preparation for shipment and/or storage. Facilitates and monitors machine setups, changeovers, procedural adjustments, shutdown, and cleanup to ensure proper processing and packaging of products within Tyson specifications. Completes daily production forms, calculates case counts, and enters data into the production inventory system.

Requirements

  • At least three (3) month experience with processing equipment used in food processing (i.e. grinders, knife sharpening tools OR 3 months experience in the operation and maintenance of machines like slicers, etc.)
  • All applicants must provide their government identification number (SSN) so the system can verify any previous Tyson employment history.
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all safety rules and procedures including use of proper PPE.
  • Adequately operate all equipment associated within the palletizing room.
  • Proper and respectful interactions daily with everyone.
  • Obtain and maintain certification to safely operate all equipment used within the department (pallet jack, forklift, etc.)
  • Maintain a clean work environment of designated areas, inside and outside.
  • Be self-motivated, have initiative, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Accurately manifest palletized product with the information on the label.
  • Ensure proper product rotation and product/packaging integrity are maintained.
  • Inspect product/packaging to ensure integrity and customer requirements are met.
  • Coordinate with the lead or supervisor to properly stage, rotate, and load pallets as needed.
  • Inventory all product in the -10 freezer and maintain the freezer in a clean and organized manner.
  • Report all activities to management throughout the day as needed or requested.
  • Maintain the overall product acceptance, ensuring compliance with USDA, SSOPs, GMPs, and HAACP.
  • Adequately perform all EIM/SAP functions utilized within the shipping and palletizing department.
  • Perform all other tasks as assigned by the lead, supervisor or management.
