About The Position

The Automated Packaging Machine Operator sets up and oversees case erector and case sealer equipment. The operator requests boxes from the warehouse, palletizes boxes according to specifications, verifies that cases match products to specifications, and changes tape rolls. The role follows Shearer’s GMP and SQF food-quality requirements, wraps and labels pallets according to company standards, conducts quality checks, clears faults on automated case makers, orders boxes, and completes a detailed shift handoff. The operator keeps equipment in good working order and free from debris, and ensures the box maker and/or case sealer is running and continually stocked with boxes and tape. The operator detects faulty operations and defective material and reports them, along with unusual situations, to the appropriate supervisor. Other tasks may be assigned.

The position is listed for a night shift from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Pay is $21.15–$24.15 per hour, with the responsibilities section also listing $21.15 plus $3.00.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with food safety regulations.
• Prior experience performing safety checks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Experience performing routine equipment cleaning.
• Strong aptitude in mechanical and preventative maintenance skills.
• Ability to understand and interpret equipment manuals.
