About The Position

The Auto Shop & Sales Manager leads Dezerland Park Orlando’s automotive division, with overall responsibility for classic and specialty vehicle sales and oversight of automotive shop operations supporting the Orlando Auto Museum, Classic Car Depot, and dealership inventory. This role directly supervises the Auto Shop Manager, who manages daily mechanical, collision repair, and auto body work. The Auto Shop & Sales Manager aligns shop priorities with sales objectives, ensuring vehicles are efficiently reconditioned, properly maintained, professionally presented, and ready for display or sale while protecting their value. The ideal candidate is an accomplished classic or collector car sales professional with the technical knowledge to evaluate vehicle condition, assess repair and restoration estimates, and hold the shop accountable for quality, cost, safety, and turnaround times. This individual delivers a personalized, concierge-level buying experience for collectors, enthusiasts, and guests while leading a team in a fast-paced automotive and entertainment environment. Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of automotive sales experience, preferably involving classic, collector, exotic, or luxury vehicles.
  • Minimum of two years of experience managing employees, a sales team, or an automotive department.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong knowledge of and enthusiasm for classic, vintage, exotic, and collector vehicles, including their history, values, and market appeal.
  • Working knowledge of automotive mechanical systems, collision repair, and restoration sufficient to evaluate vehicles, review estimates, and oversee shop performance.
  • Experience managing budgets, inventory, purchasing, and vendor relationships.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, customer service, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and sales tracking tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to balance sales objectives with shop and inventory priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, guest-focused entertainment environment.
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays, evenings, and special events as business needs require.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor consistent with company standards.
  • Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record, with the ability to safely operate a variety of classic and specialty vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Lead dealership sales performance, establishing and achieving monthly and annual vehicle sales targets.
  • Personally sell vintage, classic, and specialty vehicles, providing knowledgeable guidance on each vehicle’s history, features, condition, value, and collector appeal.
  • Lead, coach, and establish performance expectations for sales staff.
  • Build and maintain a qualified prospect pipeline through timely follow-up, networking, and referrals.
  • Lead sales negotiations in coordination with ownership and within established approval guidelines.
  • Deliver a seamless buying experience from initial inquiry through final sale, documentation, and vehicle delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of leads, inquiries, and sales activity in the customer relationship management (CRM) system.
  • Report sales results, pipeline activity, and forecasts to leadership.
  • Evaluate potential acquisitions and trade-ins, considering vehicle condition, anticipated reconditioning costs, and resale value.
  • Stay informed about classic and collector car trends, vehicle values, auction results, and market demand.
  • Partner with Marketing to develop vehicle listings, featured inventory, and promotional opportunities.
  • Represent Dezerland at car shows, auctions, and collector gatherings, and support on-site automotive events to generate leads and build relationships.
  • Directly supervise the Auto Shop Manager and establish clear expectations for quality, safety, turnaround times, and cost control.
  • Oversee shop services supporting the Orlando Auto Museum, Classic Car Depot, dealership inventory, and other vehicles assigned to the shop.
  • Prioritize sales reconditioning, museum vehicle maintenance, restoration projects, and urgent automotive repair needs across the property.
  • Review and approve repair and restoration plans, major parts and equipment purchases, and vendor selections within established approval authority.
  • Manage the automotive division’s budget, including parts, supplies, labor, and outside vendor expenses.
  • Review inventory, purchasing, and service records to ensure accuracy, accountability, and effective cost management.
  • Inspect vehicles before display or buyer delivery to confirm condition, presentation, and completion of required work.
  • Ensure shop operations follow applicable safety requirements and company standards, including the safe handling and storage of automotive chemicals, paints, tools, and equipment.
  • Oversee vehicle merchandising, showroom presentation, and inventory readiness.
  • Coordinate display rotations and highlight featured or newly acquired vehicles.
  • Monitor vehicle condition throughout the showroom and museum.
  • Coordinate detailing, preventive maintenance, and necessary repairs through the Auto Shop Manager.
