About The Position

Responsible for inspecting and testing vehicles, completing preventive maintenance such as tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, alignments, oil changes, replacing filters, and fluid exchanges. This role involves mentoring other Auto Service Techs, performing vehicle alignments, maintaining shop equipment and safety practices, detecting and performing mechanical repairs, servicing customer vehicles, recommending products and services, quoting repairs, and potentially initiating purchase orders for parts. The technician is also responsible for completing all necessary training and maintaining certifications, including ASE A7 or 609 AC and ASE A6. They must support company safety and operational standards, adhere to audit requirements, and may assist with phones and the front counter.

Requirements

  • Minimum age requirement: 18 years
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record
  • 3 to 5 years related experience and/or technical training.
  • ASE certification A4 and A5
  • ASE A7 – Heat and Air Systems or 609 AC
  • ASE A6 – Electrical Systems
  • 609 AC certification is required for air conditioning service repair.

Responsibilities

  • Completed vehicle inspection every time and communicates to the front counter the items that may need to be repaired.
  • Consistently Inspect and recommend needed repairs and/or services using the vehicles inspection report.
  • Proper completion of Vehicle Inspection Report
  • Mentors other Auto Service Techs 1 and 2.
  • Perform vehicle alignments according to manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Responsible for maintaining shop equipment and safety practices.
  • Detect and perform mechanical issues, installation and repairs to brake, steering, suspension, transmission etc.
  • Service customer vehicles according to Commercial Tires guidelines.
  • Recommend products and services as needed.
  • Able to quote repairs.
  • May initiate purchase orders for parts; support and track purchasing and returns.
  • Completes all necessary training within 1 year and is required to maintain certifications.
  • Participates in and completes all required training (example: Valvoline, TIA, safety, etc.).
  • Supports company safety and operational standards and adheres to all audit requirements.
  • Assist with phones, front counter, etc.
