About The Position

ADESA, a Carvana owned company, is seeking an Auto Mechanic to join their high production mechanic shop. This role supports the mechanic shop by performing assigned diagnostic repair or maintenance on customer vehicles. ADESA operates over 50 locations throughout the US, offering a wide array of vehicle services. They foster a "we" versus "I" culture and are experiencing significant growth and investment. This position reports to the Mechanic Shop or designated manager.

Requirements

  • 2 to 3 years of experience in automotive repair field

  • Must be 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license that meets the requirements
  • Able to safely drive a variety of make/model/sizes of vehicles

Nice To Haves

  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • 2 ASE Certifications preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform A/C & Heater system diagnostics and basic checks, identify leaks.
  • Inspect and repair brake systems, including measuring components, road testing, and checking fluid levels.
  • Visually inspect batteries, clean connections, check belts, test batteries, and perform basic charging system checks.
  • Lubricate clutch components and identify proper clutch operation.
  • Check and adjust cooling system levels, inspect for leaks, perform minor repairs, and flush/refill systems.
  • Inspect/test batteries, cables, and motors for starting/cranking systems; repair/replace defective components and read wiring schematics.
  • Repair minor wiring problems, replace bulbs, lenses, and simple light assemblies; install/replace accessories.
  • Inspect drive axle housings for leaks, change oil and filter, and clean breathers.
  • Lubricate driveline components and inspect for wear or damage.
  • Check and adjust oil levels for gas engines, identify unusual noises and oil leaks.
  • Replace and prime fuel filters, check fuel system components for integrity and condition.
  • Perform preventive maintenance including lube techniques, tire inspection, brake checks, battery checks, under-vehicle checks, and initial fault code identification.
  • Perform air pressure checks, tread depth checks, identify tires needing replacement or repair, and replace tire and wheel assemblies.
  • Track and record vehicle information following department processes.
  • Assist in overall general shop duties such as cleaning, driving, organizing vehicle parking and staging.
  • Provide prompt and courteous service to internal and external customers.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and neat work environment.
  • Practice and promote teamwork at all times.
  • Set a good personal example of attitude and performance.
