About The Position

This position is for an experienced Auto Glass Technician at Safelite, a company focused on vehicle glass repair, replacement, and recalibration, and part of the global leader Belron®. Requirements

High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent (Preferred)
Valid state-issued driver’s license and any other required licenses to operate a company vehicle.
Proven experience as an Auto Glass Technician (2+ years preferred).
Technician level: Typically 1+ years of vehicle glass installation, repair, replacement, recalibration, or closely related automotive service experience.
Senior Technician level: Typically 3+ years of vehicle glass experience with demonstrated technical proficiency, quality performance, and independent operation.
Master Technician level: Typically 5+ years of vehicle glass experience with advanced technical expertise and demonstrated mentoring, coaching, or training capability.
Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, bend and twist body.
Ability to use a variety of hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Ability to operate a motor vehicle in accordance with all federal, state and local laws and agreement to be monitored via in-cab vehicle safety camera / video surveillance technology.
Maintains professionalism and passion for providing outstanding customer service and exceeding customer expectations.
Ability to safely work outside in a wide variety of weather conditions and extreme temperatures for extended periods.
Ability to work with chemicals (including but not limited to flammable chemicals), as applicable per the “Safelite Way of Fitting”.
Ability to work scheduled days, with flexibility on start and end times to accommodate customer’s needs.
Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic tools to complete recalibrations and trouble-shoot issues.
Problem-solving and ability to trouble-shoot issues, independently and collaboratively.
Ability to read, write and interpret the English language and technical directions.
Ability to communicate orally (via phone) and written (via computer or other electronic means).
Ability to maintain a professional appearance, adhering to Company uniform and PPE policies.
Willingness and ability to maintain stable performance under professional or personal pressure and/or opposition (e.g., time pressure and productivity measures).

Responsibilities

Provide all vehicle glass repair and replacement services at a Safelite Shop or Mobile Glass Shop, prioritizing safety, quality, and exceptional customer service.
Clean customer vehicles after every job.
Recalibrate automotive safety systems, including troubleshooting and completing diagnostic testing.
Proficiently operate Safelite’s tools and technologies, including True Seal®, Ezi-Wire™, Glass Table System (GTS), chemicals, customer administration systems, and Safelite's handheld Mobile Resource Management (MRM) technology.
Safely operate company and customer vehicles throughout the workday.
Communicate with scheduled customers in-person, via text, and on the phone.
Present, promote, and sell Safelite promotional items and services to customers.
Serve as a technical resource, support technician development, share best practices, and assist with coaching and mentoring activities (at Senior and Master Technician levels).
Perform other duties as assigned.
