Responsible for creating or auditing a comprehensive estimate of damages for 1st and 3rd party material damage claims in either the auto or specialty lines leading to the proper disposition. Responsible for training, mentoring, controlling quality and providing technical assistance on material damage claims. Looking for a role where your expertise makes a difference every day? National General is seeking a Field Auto Appraiser to support customers throughout the claims process by inspecting vehicle damage, preparing repair estimates, and delivering fair, accurate, and timely claim resolutions. This is an opportunity to work independently, leverage your estimating expertise, and build strong relationships with customers, repair facilities, and business partners throughout the Greensboro, NC territory. The ideal candidate will possess strong auto damage estimating experience, proficiency with CCC ONE or similar estimating software, experience negotiating repairs and supplements with collision repair facilities, and the ability to effectively manage an assigned territory while delivering an exceptional customer experience. Responsible for investigating, evaluating, and resolving auto physical damage claims through vehicle inspections, damage estimation, settlement negotiation, and customer communication to support accurate and timely claim resolution.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Possesses strong estimating fundamentals in order to create or audit estimates of damages on 1st and 3rd party material damage losses of all severities
  • Possesses a deep understanding of the content of all policy types written by the company
  • Negotiates settlements, makes settlement payments and documents all activities in the most complex of files across multiple lines
  • Evaluates settlement alternatives by reviewing regulatory compliance and fair claims practices; makes decisions on best option
  • Builds mastered relationships with both internal and external customers across multiple lines
  • Investigating, evaluating, and resolving auto physical damage claims through vehicle inspections, damage estimation, settlement negotiation, and customer communication to support accurate and timely claim resolution.
