About The Position

This role involves evaluating and assessing damaged vehicles to determine if they are repairable or a total loss. The appraiser will run total loss evaluations, write estimates using standard automotive software, and review repair cost estimates with body shops. Communication with insured parties and body shops is a key part of the role.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License.
• 1-2 years of body shop or insurance experience.
• Knowledge of Estimatics software including CCC, Mitchell, and Audatex.
• Ability to negotiate in a variety of circumstances.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including active listening skills.
• Effective utilization of computer systems and software.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and assesses damaged vehicles.
• Makes decisions on if the vehicle is repairable or a total loss based on damages.
• Runs total loss evaluations as needed on vehicles.
• Writes estimates using standard automotive labor and parts cost software and knowledge of automotive repair.
• Reviews repair cost estimates with automobile repair shop to secure agreement on cost of repairs.
• Communicates with insured and body shops.
