About The Position

This role is responsible for maintaining an ethical and collaborative relationship between Dealers and the Corporation, championing the execution of Canadian Tire's True North Strategy with a focus on customer experience. The manager will facilitate the automotive OE (Operational Excellence Program) in Stores, providing coaching and training on best practices. They will partner directly with Associate Dealers to align the Dealers' automotive business plan with the retail plan and Corporate priorities. The position requires a general understanding of the market, demographics, and competitive landscape, and ensures aligned Corporate objectives are communicated effectively through various channels. Additionally, the role involves establishing and maintaining relationships with educational institutions to develop co-op training programs for technician development, EV service requirements, and advancing the trade. The manager is expected to proactively seek personal and professional development opportunities, provide responsive assistance to Dealers for operational requests using virtual tools, and balance current in-store support priorities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in Canadian Tire automotive service or equivalent
  • Ability to effectively support and travel throughout Southwestern Ontario, maintaining strong Dealer relationships and providing consistent operational support across the assigned market.
  • Required to travel extensively within and, at times, outside of assigned region
  • Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes without authority
  • Ability to interpret data, gain insights and provide recommendations
  • Understanding of the financial levers of the automotive service
  • Ability to manage and adhere to a travel expense policy and budget
  • General understanding of current and emerging technology and equipment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid drivers license and access to a vehicle required
  • Understanding of the electric vehicle (EV) market, including protocols and standards
  • Stay current with knowledge of Automotive software programs

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the automotive OE (Operational Excellence Program) in Stores, providing coaching and training of best practices.
  • Partner directly with our Associate Dealers to help balance the Dealers automotive business plan with the retail plan and Corporate priorities
  • Ensure aligned Corporate objectives are understood through written, verbal, in-person communications and regional automotive service meetings.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with educational institutions to develop and promote co-op training programs, supporting technician development, EV service requirements and advancing the trade within Canadian Tire
  • Proactively seek opportunities for personal and professional development, enhancing both technical knowledge and leadership capabilities
  • Provide responsive assistance to Dealers for operational requests by leveraging virtual online booking tools and resources while balancing current in-store support priorities
